Step into our Snake Room at Antelope Park for an unforgettable encounter with some of Zimbabwe’s most remarkable reptiles. Home to a wide variety of native species, from the elusive boomslang and striking spitting cobra to the impressive banded cobra, this experience brings you closer than ever to creatures rarely seen up close. All snakes are safely housed and have been responsibly captured right here in the park. For those feeling brave, you’ll even have the chance to hold and interact with one of our resident pythons!  

The snakes housed in our facility are carefully studied and used to educate guests and volunteers about the vital role these reptiles play in the ecosystem. After a period of observation and care, they are safely released back into the wild, far from human settlements to help reduce conflict and support natural biodiversity. As part of this ongoing cycle, newly encountered snakes from within the park are carefully brought in to replace those that have been released, ensuring the experience remains dynamic, educational, and rooted in real conservation impact.
